4 Ideas To Celebrate International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day - a day that comes but once a year to highlight and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe.

Here at GRACE, we believe women (and men if we're honest) should be intentionally thought of and celebrated all year round. But for the sake of the global day at hand, we've put together 4 ideas on how to appreciate and applaud those phenomenal women in your lives.

1. The Classic 'thank you' Note

Sounds basic, but goes a long way. Choose this simple yet effective way to show gratitude to your girl gang. Websites such as Canva, give you 100's of templates to choose from and can even print them off and have them delivered to your girl gang in no time, or if you'd rather the traditional method try out Paperchase for quality cards.

2. Official International Women's Day Events

1. Black Business Network Presents: Black Women In Business Brunch (Sunday 8th March 2019)

To celebrate international women's day, round up your ladies and get tickets to attend the Black Women in Business Brunch held in trendy London Art House. Enjoy a 2-course meal and tasty mocktails while being inspired by successful businesswomen who will teach and share their wealth of knowledge on how to pursue your business dreams.

2. International Women’s Day- Women of the National Portrait Gallery Tour (Friday 6th and Sunday 8th March)

Ever walked through a museum and wondered who some of the women were in the portraits and what their story was? The National Portrait Gallery is holding a 2-hour tour throughout the museum, going through a substantial amount of artwork in their collection dedicated to women. A great event for art lovers and those who love a bit of history.

3. International Women's Day Print Workshop, in aid of Young Women's Trust.

Ladies let your inner creativity shine with a fun and slightly messy activity. Spend your afternoon creating your print designs with London based graphic designer Melissa Fry. Guaranteed fun but you'll also be contributing to a great cause championed by non-profit organisation Young Women’s Trust.

3. A Night in with Prayer

The prayer of a righteous man avails much! Word to James 5:16. This would probably be the best way to spend IWD with the women you love. Set the table and invite your ladies over for prayer and a Bible study session on great women in the scriptures. You can have a quiz to test your knowledge over some home-cooked food and feast further on the word of God. Hallelujah to this idea!

4. Beauty and Relaxation

1.Agua

What's a women's day without some sort of beauty and relaxation? Visit Agua located in Londons Sea Containers for a 2 in 1 spa day. Be sure to make use of the glamour lounge dedicated to nails and facial hair grooming, then move on to the spa where you can unwind with a custom-blended aromatherapy massage to promote deep relaxation.

This will definitely have your body and your besties thanking you.
